Ajman Padel Tournament Opens Door for More Arab Padel Talents
As part of the Ajman Tourism Development Department’s (ATDD) announcement of the inauguration of the Ajman Padel Tennis Tournament, which will take place from September 2 to September 9, the ATDD opened the registration period from August 16 to August 26, 2021.
There are gold (A and B classifications) and bronze (C classifications) categories, as well as monetary prizes awarded to the winners of each category, according to player rating set by the United Arab Emirates Padel Association (UAEPA). Ajman Tourism is organizing this tournament as part of its sporting calendar in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates Padel Association (UAEPA).
Athletes from both locals and expatriates are anticipated to compete in the competition, which is available to males only, at www.uaepa.ae, the official website of the UAE Professional Athletics Association.
Residents who intend to take part in the event must provide proof of residence that is at least three months old at the time of the competition’s commencement. The Padel Tennis Courts in the Padel Corner, Padel Square, and the Padel House will host the competition.
The primary goal of the department’s sporting events and tournaments is to promote Ajman as a premier tourist destination in the region and beyond, particularly given that the Emirate of Ajman’s sporting scene has grown rapidly in terms of annual sports activities.
Ajman Tourism Development Department and other government institutions have played an important role in promoting social responsibility by supporting tournaments that aim to encourage people to live healthier, happier, and more active lifestyles.
Padel Tennis is a hybrid sport that includes elements of both tennis and squash. It may be played on either closed or open courts, with netting and glass panels along the sides and back of the court, depending on the needs of the competition.
Following a call from the United Arab Emirates Padel Association, the Ajman Padel Tennis Tournament is one of several tournaments that have been organized in the emirates since the new classification and regulations were implemented to ensure fair competition among all clubs and attract local athletes.
In addition to Amina Hospital’s role as medical sponsor, Ajman Media City Free Zone and Siux Padel have also donated to the tournament’s success.
ATDD’s calendar this year focuses on promoting sports tourism in the emirate by highlighting a wide range of athletic events. At the beginning of the month, the department plans to host the Ajman Run, the Masfout Mountain Bike Challenge, and the Ajman Duathlon (an endurance competition that comprises a 5 km running race, a 20 km biking race, and a second 2.5 km running race).
Additionally, the Ajman Sea Festival at the Ajman Corniche on October 29, the Masfout Trail Run on November 12, and the 21 km Amina Hospitals Half Marathon – Ajman on December 31 are included in the schedule of events.
