Allix Collombon puts france in the padel map as she aces the women’s World Padel Tour Circuit this season. At the Cervezas Victoria Cordoba Open 2021, Collombon made history.
This season, the 28-year old towered over challengers in La Nucía and Alfafar and made finals in Calanda and Lerma.

French Pride
The french beauty paired with Jessica Castelló trampled the iconic duo of Marta Ortega and Bea González in the quarter-finals of the Cordoba Open. The crowd went nuts with the unexpected rise of this dark horse duo beating the enemy in the sixth-seeded pair at around 16.
Is this even such a big deal? Yes, it is!
Collombon is the first padel player to reach quarter-finals in a major tournament. A legend in the making!
Padel is undeniably reaching great heights worldwide, and it’s evident in the diversity of the stunners competing for the top ranks. The French, on that matter, are never ones to back out from a challenge.
Collombon leads four french women in the WPT 2021 rankings at rank 36. Lea Godallier beats fellow french player Laura Clergue (rank 54) at rank 53 by just one step. Melissa Martin also joins the WPT stage at rank 110.
Alix’s grand parade was shut down at the quarter-finals by the Open’s champions Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría. The French star and her partner started strong winning the first set at 7-5. But the winners came in to sweep the title in the following two sets leaving the fallen pair with only three games.
A fantastic run for the new top french player and historical one too!
Things are getting interesting in the french padel scene and everyone is excited to welcome all the great talents from the country of lights and love.
Collombon started the calendar year ranked 36th and has now gained 13 places to 23rd. Léa Godallier, a fellow Frenchwoman, has advanced 13 places from 53rd to 40th. However, she hasn’t had the same success as Collombon in either Challengers or Opens.
Collombon, 28 years old, is currently ranked 21st in The Race 2021 and is not in contention for the Madrid Master Final this season.
If she continues on her current path, she might be at the season’s climax next season. Until then, she still has the Swedish Open to contend with!
