Victory at Arms Length: Why Padel Player’s Physique Matter
In padel, a player’s height and arm span are quite significant. To effectively bring rallies to a conclusion, considerable force is necessary, with the most powerful shots occurring when players smash the ball far over the head, as seen in tennis.
Padel is relatively similar to tennis in terms of gameplay, although there are some minor distinctions. It is exclusively played in doubles and takes place on an enclosed court much smaller than a tennis court, and features walls that may be used during the game. However, the balls used are almost similar (although with little less pressure), and the scoring system is the same.
Padel is a relatively new sport established in Mexico in 1969 by Enrique Corcuera. He renovated a portion of his property and built pacing walls all around it before playing tennis with a friend from Spain.
In this regard, it would be advantageous for padel players to be tall and of relatively high weight (of course, with more muscle mass) so that they can deliver powerful strikes, particularly when they begin a point or wish to close it quickly with a complex stroke (which can sometimes take the ball out of court).

This isn’t something that happens very often in squash or table tennis
Padel players must move around more than squash or table tennis players in order to cover more ground.
Furthermore, although they do not generally need such a short response time, they require a lot of leg force to move their upper-body weight swiftly. Technical, tactical, and psychological components of padel performance training should be prioritized.
Smashing talents from medium distances (a low-frequency action 10% of the game, but completed at high speed) and volleying well near to the net (a high-frequency measure>30% of the game and made in a short time frame) is the guaranteed way to rake more points in padel games.
